Mike Bennett

Biography

Mike Bennett is the director of Hypercube Ltd., providing services and training in formal semantics. Mike is the originator of the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO), a formal ontology of financial industry concepts and definitions, and participates in a number of standards activities in finance and distributed ledger technology. He has a number of published papers on ontologies as conceptual models.

2022 Talk: Ontology Driven Smart Contracts

Most smart contracts are developed bottom up, with ad hoc re-use of business concepts. Ontology provides a means to drive consistent, interoperable smart contracts, using well-vetted ontology concepts for contracts and transactions. This presentation describes the architecture of such a solution and business benefits in supply chain management and elsewhere.
